Interim Pastor
Steven B. Hankins
Steve is currently serving as our Interim Pastor. The Lord saved Steve while reading a Gideon Bible in a Minneapolis hotel room. He received his Doctor of Ministry, Th.D., degree from Covington Theological Seminary and taught in their Savannah extension for six years. Prior to the pastorate, Steve served as an officer in the United States Army, and then worked in engineering and business management. In his last pastorate he served as Senior Pastor of Seacoast Community Church in New Hampshire, where the Lord used him in a successful church revitalization effort. He has published several books and maintains a daily blog/vlog that can be seen on renewingtheheart.org. Steve and his wife Chris enjoy the beach, boating, and fishing.
Hispanic Mission Pastor
Rev. Boanerges Calvio
Pastor Calvio has been the pastor of our Hispanic mission since 2007. He and his wife Margarita are faithful servants of the Lord, and have a great passion for reaching the Hispanic community here on the OBX.
Administrative Assistant
Lois Givans
Lois has been our administrative assistant since 2018. She and her husband Jimmy are long time residents of Roanoke Island, and they reside in Wanchese. Lois brings years of experience and expertise to this important position in our church, and she can find an answer to almost any question you have about MBC. Lois’ greatest attribute is her love of Jesus, and her compassion for people. Call her for any information you would like to have about our church.
Music Director
Priscilla Weir
Priscilla has been helping out with our music since 2021. She and Steve love supporting the ministry at MBC because of its strong emphasis on preaching the Word of God and discipleship of all ages. She is a retired K-5 music teacher from Scotland County, NC and has worked in church music and youth for the last 35 years. She and Steve have been married since 1979 and have two adult daughters and one grandson. She loves being with her family, and loves Bible studies and Christian music.
Priscilla graduated from Moody Bible Institute, Nyack College in Nyack NY, and Pembroke University in Pembroke NC.
Deacon Fellowship
Manteo Baptist is blessed to have a fellowship of deacons who love Jesus, and love to serve others. Each family / member in our church is assigned a personal deacon to assist them in times of need.
Custodian
Mike Hollowell
Mike became our custodian/facility maintenance person in October of 2018. Mike is a dedicated servant of the Lord, and he loves to see God at work in people’ lives.
