Anchor Youth
Anchor Youth is the student ministry of Manteo Baptist Church in Manteo, North Carolina. We are passionate about one thing: Jesus Christ. Our goal is to connect students in Manteo and the Outer Banks to Jesus. To help accomplish this, we use Word of Life Student Ministry as our discipleship structure and method.
Word of Life’s Student Ministry Program is built on a simple philosophy: reaching youth whose culture is constantly changing with the biblical truth that never changes.
The ministry focuses on these eight areas each year:
- Learn to have a consistent daily time in God’s Word on a six-year rotation that touches every book in the Bible.
- Study key doctrines of scripture as well as character studies, apologetics, bible book studies, and Christian basics.
- Memorize 24 verses that come straight out of the Bible study, so they can articulate their faith to others.
- Discover, develop and deploy their gifts by participating in Engage and serving in the local church.
- Minister and serve 18 times in the church and community.
- Read through 3 or more Christian books building a biblical worldview and personalizing their faith.
- Earn college scholarships & money towards camp.
- Develop personal evangelism by learning how to share their faith and invite others to church activities or participating in evangelistic activities.
Anchor Youth meets Sunday for Sunday School and Sunday night meetings, and special monthly events like trips to Busch Gardens, the water park and putt putt. They just recently went to FUGE camp and anticipate many such events in the future.
We are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
